I am buying my prescriptions online for the first time. What do I need to know?

We have tried to ensure that ordering your prescription drugs online is a quick and safe experience. However, even if you decide not to purchase your medications from World Trust Pharmacy, we recommend looking at our safely buying prescription drugs online page that contains invaluable and independent advice on choosing where and how to buy your online medications.

Is this site legal?

One of the main reasons we were established is to help ensure you can buy your generic and brand prescriptions online with total confidence and trust. We realize the online pharmacy business is a real minefield for customers in terms of trying to spot the legitimate sites over the thousands of rogue internet pharmacies. We have therefore tried to distance ourselves from the website design and business models of the usual internet pharmacy site to ensure we put you, the customer, first.

We only sell 100% legal prescription only drugs (no controlled substances), from some of the worlds top drug manufacturers such as Merck, Pfizer, Sanofi, Abbott, AstraZeneca, Cipla, GlaxoSmithKline and Ranbaxy (SunPharma). These are all either 100% FDA approved or approved by each countries relevant ‘Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards as set by the World Health Organisation.

Our pharmacy teams have all the relevant governing body accreditations and our website passes the strict security requirements imposed by the industry standards such as Comodo SSL and Automated Clearing House (ACH).

Our Privacy Policy and Anti-spam policies all exceed the relevant legal requirements to ensure you can regularly shop at our site in total confidence that all your personal details are fully safe and secure.

In order to correctly and legally process your order we will need valid prescription(s) for your order(s) and up-to-date and accurate personal information such as name, address, date of birth etc.

For your own safety, you will also need to include various accurate and up-to-date medical details such as current medications, allergies and medical history so that our pharmacists can review your order and prescription in conjunction with your medical information.

Must I have a prescription to order from your site?

Yes, the Food and Drug Administration Agency (FDA) require us to have a valid prescription for each drug that is ordered. Also it can be very risky taking prescription drugs without a valid prescription.

Don’t worry though ! If there are any problems with your prescription our pharmacists will contact your physician directly to resolve any queries or concerns. If our pharmacists are not willing to approve your prescription (e.g. due to potential interactions with other medications or medical history) then your order will be cancelled and your payment will not be taken.

How do I send you my prescription?

We must receive a valid prescription for each drug ordered so that our pharmacy teams can review this in conjunction with the medical information you provide, prior to approving and shipping the medications. This can be a copy of the original prescription that can be faxed, posted or emailed to:

We require a valid prescription written by a doctor in English or Spanish. Once we receive your prescription order, we then require you to either fax, email or post the relevant prescription(s) from your physician. Since a postal prescription could take up to two weeks to reach us, we strongly recommend faxing or emailing your prescription.

Please visit our page How to send us a copy of your prescription for further help.

Can I choose from a brand or a cheaper generic drug from my prescription?

By FDA law, we must fulfill your prescriptions as prescribed by your physician. If your physician has written the prescription for a brand drug with “no substitutions” allowed, then we are not allowed to substitute the brand drug for a generic drug. Since most, but not all brand drugs have a cheaper generic version, you may request a generic version of the brand drug as long as your prescription allows it. We will not give you a generic drug if your doctor does not allow it.

How do I place an Order?

For more information on how to order please review our How To order page.

We have tried to make ordering your medications as easy as possible. You can now order your medications using the following methods:

For email and postal details please see our World Trust Pharmacy Contact Us page.

Note : We will need a copy of your valid prescription before your order can be processed.

How much medication can I buy?

Due to strict FDA regulations you are only allowed to purchase up to 3 months (90 days) worth of medication for your own personal use. Any amount above this 3-month limit is not considered “personal use”. If your prescription is for more than 3 months supply, then we can order those refills for you as they become due, but will limit your initial order to a 90 days supply.

How long will it take to process my order?

Once we have received your order and relevant personal information, medical information and a valid prescription, your first order with World Trust Pharmacy usually takes 2 to 3 business days to process and get ready for shipping.

Once shipped, you should receive your order within 7 – 10 business days but it could take up to 21 days. Refill orders shall normally be delivered to your door within 10 business days. The main delays are usually due to the fact that we cannot proceed with the order until we have received proof of your relevant prescription(s) for the drugs you have ordered.

What if you don't have all my order in stock?

Due to the highly efficient stock control systems and professionalism of our suppliers, it is very rare that our suppliers are out of stock on any of our medications. Can my order be cancelled after I've paid?

Yes, you can cancel your order and get a full refund. Please see our Refunds and Returns policy for more information.

Where do you get your prescription drugs from?

Our drugs come from some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturers including: Abbott, Aventis, AstraZeneca, Cipla, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck and Pfizer and we supply their medications from countries such as the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Turkey and India. All of these companies are high quality pharmaceutical manufacturers, who are either certified by the US FDA or meet the World Health Organization’s “Good Manufacturing Practices” (cGMP) standards.

Some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world are now based in Asia, with India alone having over 100 FDA approved plants and another 200 manufacturing units that comply with strict GMP standards.

Even back in 2006, a research report by KPMG, stated “India now has the largest number of FDA-approved manufacturing units [for prescription drugs] outside the US.”

Indian drug manufacturers currently export their products to more than 65 countries worldwide. Their largest customer is the U.S., the world’s biggest pharmaceutical market.

Many of these companies sell directly to American consumers or sell raw ingredients to Western pharmaceutical manufacturers such as GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, and Pfizer who in turn sell to American consumers.

Are all the prescription drugs that you sell safe and legal?

All brand name and generic medicines sold via World Trust Pharmacy are legal. The medications are either sourced from Canada, United Kingdom, Turkey, New Zealand and India where they have complied with strict international regulatory approval process, or are sourced from manufacturing facilities that have been approved by one of the following respected international regulatory bodies; Food and Drug Administration (FDA), USA; Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), UK and the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The FDA and other similar authorities state that all drugs (brand and generic) must work well and be safe before they are approved after their strict and rigorous approval process. Remember that generic drugs use the same active ingredients as brand-name drugs and work in exactly the same manner. Generic drugs have saved the American population $700 million over the last decade and this figure is set to rise as more people look to reduce their healthcare costs.

To learn more about generic drugs please see our Generic Drugs Information Center.

Why do the drugs I receive look different to the ones from my local pharmacy?

If you normally use a brand name drug and then order a generic equivalent (from any pharmacy, including us) then they will look different. Although generic drugs do not look like their brand name version, the important points are that they have the same active ingredient and work the same. It may even be the same manufacturer selling the brand and generic versions but they will still look different.

Also please be aware that one brand drug may have different manufacturers making the generic equivalent – again these generic versions will vary in appearance between manufacturer but all work exactly the same.

How can I be sure of the quality of these medications?

Ensuring the high quality of medications we provide is of paramount importance to us. By offering safe, legal, affordable and high quality medications, we will hopefully increase the number of customers trusting World Trust Pharmacy. This means we are extremely attentive and selective in our choice of supplier.

All medications sold via World Trust Pharmacy have been through the source countries rigorous testing and approval requirements of local government agencies (similar to the FDA in America) to verify their identity, purity, potency and stability and to prove that they are safe and effective drugs for their intended use.

Will you take health insurance for my payments?

Unfortunately health insurers are currently not willing to work with internet pharmacies in this manner. Since our main purpose is to make our prescriptions as affordable as possible, will we continue to pursue this matter and inform you when this becomes an option.

I have placed the order but the payment gateway declined my payment. My credit card works fine so what is wrong?

Since we don’t store your credit card details on our site, all the payments are made directly through your bank network. If your credit card has not been accepted, unfortunately you will need to phone your bank and ask the reason for this decline so that this can be resolved. Sometimes the decline could simply be your banks anti-fraud system being activated due to you purchasing from a site for the first time or spending a large amount of money compared to recent purchases.

Why are your prescriptions drugs so discounted?

The United States is one of the few countries in the world where the government doesn’t help control or negotiate the price of prescription drugs. As a result, brand-name drugs are on average 35% to 55% cheaper in other industrialized countries than they are in the U.S.
In addition, the costs of researching, developing, advertising and potential lawsuits for brand name medications are passed to American customers as part of a medication’s price. Also, the average cost of developing a new medication is over $1 billion!

However, generic drugs from the U.S. are generally more competitive in terms of pricing against other countries due to the increasing competition in the U.S. generic drug industry.

We are therefore able to provide you with heavily discounted prescription only medications due to the fact that we source the brand and prescription medications from the worlds largest pharmaceutical companies around the world. We keep our costs and expenses low so that we can pass these much lower prescription only drug costs onto our customers.

To see how our prices for the USA’s most popular prescription drugs compare to some of the USA’s leading pharmacies, please see our prescription drug price comparison charts.

Why has the price of of my medication changed since my last order?

Sometimes prices of our medications are changed by the supplier/manufacturer e.g. due to changes in manufacturing costs, exchange rate fluctuations and supply and demand. Most of the price changes are usually reductions which we automatically pass on to the customer.

Even if the pharmaceutical manufacturers/suppliers increase their prices for a particular drug we always try and absorb this increase without increasing the cost to the customer, however this is not always possible.

Are prices in Canadian or US Dollars?

All prices are in American dollars.
